If you’re new to WordPress and would like to create your first blog with self-hosted WordPress, please check the following steps:
Step 1
Purchase a domain name
The first thing you need is to choose a good domain name (yoursitename.com) and get that registered via reliable domain name registrar; such as Name.com – $10/year estimated.
Step 2
Purchase a hosting package
Now you need a webhosting company to place your website. We recommend getting a reliable and secure hosting account from either BlueHost (which is where this site is currently hosted) or Hostgator (starting at $3.96/month).
Step 3
Change domain name’s Name Servers
Your hosting company will assigned Name Servers or DNS for your site. Login to your domain name registrar account and insert the given Name Servers info. This is to ensure your domain name is associated with your hosting.
Step 4
Install Self-hosted WordPress
Most hosting companies offer an easy installation process for WordPress via cPanel. You can choose the Quikinstall option if you’re on Hostgator (view video tutorial) or use Simple Scripts if you’re on BlueHost (view video tutorial).
Step 5
Choose your new theme
Fun time begins! Browse our selection of WordPress themes and purchase via Creative Market using credit card or Paypal.
Step 6
Setup your new theme & launch
