Freelance or Office job
It came to my mind about these two choices. Well, I did both of them before, surely love to know more in depth about each of them. Let me break it down, after some thinking.
Freelance has its good and bad
First of all, it means Freedom (Duh~!) and flexibility. I get to work when I want to work and I get to take a nap without anybody nagging at me. But working freelance at home require a good working environment as well. For now, my computer table is my office, which I would say, it’s more of a lazy environment than inspiring working environment. Let’s just say I don’t have much furniture and the environment is dull. It makes me can’t really concentrate on my work at home. Unlike when I’m at office, I get lots of inspiration and my work is FAR better than I did at home. Adjustment needed now…
Office job has its good and bad too
First of all, office = social network, which is one of the important aspects in life. It is something that is hard to get when one step into freelance life. I have had fun in the office, jokes, having lunch with bunch of people (although it’s the same people everyday) and etc. The bad side is that… Your upper (Senior/Manager/Boss) is watching your every movement. Something that I hate to the max, you have to bear with these typical chinese mindset person. Let’s just say, people who never reflect themselves with other and have a sky high ego. This is the most difficult part to go through when I’m in office.
I took a big step into freelance last year. Simply because it’s the best decision for that time. I can spend more time on my relationship with my partner and my family members. Besides, the earning is so much better than when I was working with the Man.

Hi,
an interesting post. I would love to work from home, but things are tight for me now and I need that security. I would work from home if I was earning big bucks from it and I had enough saved for about 6-12 months, just in case I had a few months where I did not do well.
The bad thing about working for others is that sometime you are not appreciated or treated like sh*t. I guess everyone’s situation is different.
I guess both has it pros and cons as stated and freelance jobs(nowadays) are a bit hard to find with good pay. I do both. I have a full time day job and do some freelance assignments off an on when I can.
